Atrocity Prevention
Atrocity prevention saves lives while reducing the long-term political, economic, and security costs of mass violence. Early warning and prevention through applying gender and intersectional analyses, diplomacy, inclusive governance, international law, and accountability costs far less than responding to instances of atrocities after they occur. The Atrocity Prevention workstream seeks to prioritize atrocity prevention in policy conversation worldwide as a way to reinforce international liberal norms, strengthen global stability, and demonstrate a commitment to human rights and the rule of law.
