Carolyn Morris

Carolyn Morris is a master’s student in Migration Studies at the University of Oxford’s Department of International Development. After graduating from university, she moved to Malaysia to work with a community center, where her role involved co-launching a livelihood program with Rohingya women. Afterwards, she worked with the International Rescue Committee in a refugee community in the U.S., also engaging with the Rohingya community there. Morris’ experiences revealed a gap in anthropological research on Rohingya heritage that inspired her involvement in grassroots organizations, storytelling projects, and academic initiatives focused on preserving and revitalizing Rohingya cultural and religious identity post-genocide.
