Rafaella Lipschitz

Associate Analyst, Crime-Conflict Nexus and Military Withdrawals

Rafaella Lipschitz is an associate analyst at the New Lines Institute, where she supports the Crime-Conflict Nexus and Military Withdrawals portfolios. Her research focuses on illicit economies across Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the Americas, examining how transnational organized crime impacts governance and conflict with particular emphasis on illicit financing, drug trafficking, and corruption. Lipschitz was previously a Student Fellow in the MA Program at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy, and received her undergraduate degree from the George Washington University. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, she relocated to the United States in 2016.
