Averill Campion

Non-Resident Senior Fellow

Averill Campion is a Non-Resident Fellow for Tech Sovereignty & Security at the New Lines Institute. Her research focuses on international partnerships in emerging technologies, including quantum and artificial intelligence. Before joining New Lines, her doctoral work contributed to a project under Spain’s Ministerio de Economìa, Industria y Competitividad on the success factors of interorganizational collaboration, including trust-building in inter- and intra-organizational AI and data science projects in the U.S. and UK governments. This research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals. 
Her broad interests include the philosophy of AI and the ways in which technology is shaping interactions between society and democracy. She believes in making expert knowledge accessible, comprehensible, and practical. 

Averill holds a PhD from the ESADE Center for Public Governance (ESADEGov) in Barcelona, Spain, an MPA from University College London, and an MSc in International Business from Aston Business School in the UK.
