Lara Jalal

Lara Jalal is a student majoring in international affairs at George Washington University, concentrating on security policy and the Middle East. She is a research associate at the Kurdish Peace Institute and a freelance journalist with The Amargi. Jalal divides her time between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the United States, bringing strong connections to both regions to her academic and professional work. She is also a co-founder of Trigger Empathy, a student-led organization focused on amplifying the voices of women in conflict zones.
