Dr. Laura Cretney

Dr. Laura Cretney is a social entrepreneur and international development practitioner who completed her Ph.D. at Durham University’s School of Government and International Affairs, focusing on diaspora mobilization in conflict zones. A fluent Arabic speaker with over ten years of experience in capacity-building, conflict transformation, and entrepreneurial ecosystems in the Middle East, Laura’s work explores how digital tools have transformed the role of diasporas in conflict, peacebuilding, and development. She is the Director of Startup Grind Muscat and the Founder and CEO of Pink Jinn, an online marketplace focused on supporting communities across the Middle East through business and entrepreneurship.
