Irwin Cotler

Irwin Cotler, PC OC OQ, is International Chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, an Emeritus Professor of Law at McGill University, and a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. A longtime Member of Parliament, Cotler is a globally recognized human rights lawyer and advocate who has represented political prisoners and dissidents worldwide. He has been at the forefront of international campaigns for justice, accountability, and genocide prevention. Cotler’s work bridges scholarship, policy, and advocacy, and he continues to advise governments and international institutions on strengthening the rule of law and protecting vulnerable communities.
