Ibrahim Olabi is a barrister with specialized international law knowledge and experience who focuses on the Middle East and Ukraine. Olabi has served as the Founder of the Syrian Legal Development Programme (SLDP), which has provided legal expertise to Syrian NGOs, including training on a range of complex legal issues surrounding forced displacement, torture, U.N. mechanisms, facilitation of humanitarian aid, and other matters. He also served as a consultant for Syria-related matters for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Olabi has been interviewed by the BBC, CNN, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Al Jazeera, and Al-Arabiya. Olabi has been advising The Government of The Netherlands on their case against Syria for Torture at the International Court of Justice. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford.
