Position Overview:
The Analytical Development and Training Department at the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as an analytical products contractor. The analytical products team oversees forecast reports, simulations, and briefings produced for internal and external audiences.
We are seeking a hardworking individual who can think creatively and take initiative. The analytical products contractor will be an integral part of the team who will work to support a diverse array of simulations, reports, and trainings to meet the needs of external clients. Individuals with experience in running and designing simulations and war games are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position is paid and will begin as soon as possible. Pay will be commensurate with skill level and/or experience. The analytical products contractor will report to the team’s senior director and work closely with other team members and others at New Lines. The analytical products contractor is expected to commit to 20-29 hours a week (depending on availability). The term is for three months, with the potential for renewal. It is highly preferred that the contractor be based in Washington, D.C., but highly competitive candidates will be considered if they are not located in the D.C. area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the senior director, create, edit, and review all materials related to simulations and trainings.
- Consult with the senior director and other relevant team members to design the read-ahead materials and presentations.
- Research simulation topics and gather data to support realistic forecasting scenarios.
- Facilitate and manage training requests from external audiences.
- Other responsibilities to support the team as needed.
